Please note that recent changes in VOC laws in certain states require selection of the 'Low VOC' option due to higher material costs since we have to substitute the standard Armor II with the Low VOC Armor II. Note that the Low VOC version is a 4:1 mix ratio). Current states that these laws apply to are CA, CT, DE, IL, IN, MD, ME, NJ, NY, OH,PA,RI,VA, KY and all of Canada. One Armor II Kit provides two layers of protection and color coverage, paint & topcoat are the same color except for green which has a clear topcoat.
Some of our competition try to pass off a clear version of their epoxy as a topcoat, please know that epoxies are not and cannot be topcoats! Applying a clear version of epoxy does absolutely no good, any good Topcoat is Urethane fortified and is a much harder finish than any epoxy. It's why we have the best abrasion ratings in the industry, our topcoats are the best made. That's also why our floors last longer and look better longer than any other epoxy floors.
One part floor paints, thin water based epoxies and hybrid solids epoxies without topcoats can't cover or adhere to concrete surfaces properly. Most of them will require several coatings(3-4 if you apply a topcoat) or the concrete will bleed and or wear through. So even after spending more time and money on extra materials you still won't have a floor finish equal to the color quality and durability of our worry free Armor II High Wear Epoxy!
Professional Grade Shop, Hangar and Showroom Epoxy Floor Paint
If you're not going to do an epoxy job with a top quality epoxy paint and a anti wear topcoat you're better off using a conventional floor enamel and repainting every year or so!
If your floor will be seeing light vehicle or forklift traffic or even heavy foot traffic you better have a topcoat with urethane in it or expect your non topcoated water based or low grade solids epoxy to discolor, blister and have the high gloss finish worn off rather quickly. With the Armor II System your floor will be safe from tire abrasion, heavy foot traffic, hot tire lifting, accidental impacts, corrosive road salts, salt air, most acids & chemicals, UV rays and all vehicle fluids including battery acid!
Clean up is super easy and fast! Simply rinse dirt off with a hose or wipe your floor clean in minutes with a damp rag on a Tee Stick or mop! Even paint spills clean up like the your floor was Teflon coated!
Self leveling, slip resistant, stain proof, waterproof and cures to a perfect super hard high gloss porcelain like finish automatically. Even first timers come out looking like a pro! Paint in the morning, Topcoat in 4-6 hrs and drive on it in 48 hrs! It's a Quick, Easy, Beautiful and Super Durable System!
Armor II can be applied over new or old bare concrete, previously painted concrete (if the paint is in good condition and not blistering or peeling, use our epoxy primer first to ensure a good bond between your existing coating and the Armor II), Can be used to coat over wood when primed first.
For use over VCT Tile scuff floor with floor buffing machine equipped with a black pad and apply VCT Primer, allow to dry 24 Hrs then apply Armor II as normal.
Our Ultra Wear Nonskid Additive is of the finest quality materials and provides superior traction and even more durability! It mixes right into the Armor Ultra Wear Topcoat and won't separate out of the topcoat like other brands.
EASILY APPLIED. INSTALLATION TIME FOR TYPICAL 600 SF KIT IS:
1-2 Hrs Clean & Etch, 1-2 Hrs Epoxy Paint, Les than 1 Hr Topcoat.
COVERAGE:
STANDARD KIT WILL COVER APROX 600 SQ FT. MORE POROUS SURFACES WILL YIELD LESS COVERAGE.
ORDERING: Simply click on the appropriate size kit for your floor from the drop down box. Please note that coverage is not an exact science since every floor will vary in the absorption rate of the epoxy so DO NOT order to the exact square footage, allow a 10% safety factor to ensure you have enough material to properly cover your floor and have a little left over that you can put into small cans or jars and store.
Note: You can order multiples of the 600 Sq Ft kits if that fits your floor area better than one of the larger kits.
AVERAGE DRY TIME 4-6 HRS TO WALK ON AND TOPCOAT.
APPLICATION:
Apply epoxy in a temperature range of 45-95 degrees. Do not apply if raining.
Armor II can be brushed, rolled or sprayed on. Bare or Painted surfaces must be washed cleaned (power wash if possible)with all oil and grease stains removed and then prepped with the included Acid Safe Etching Solution to provide a clean rough surface for the Epoxy to adhere to. Floor should resemble new concrete clean so that epoxy permanently bonds into the pores of your concrete slab. Previously Coated Floor Note: If coating is peeling or flaking off it is recommended that the entire coating be removed for best results. If coating is adequately bonded to slab then a rough sanding prior to etching is recommended to provide a rough surface for the epoxy primer to adhere to. Any type of concrete sealer must be completely removed.
To Etch simply mix solution with water according to packaged instructions, brush into a wet floor with stiff bristled shop broom, let stand for 5-10 minutes, sprinkle and brush in the TSP powder and rinse well, that's it!
Note: After Etching and rinsing thoroughly, let floor dry 100%, mix Part A and Part B cans individually then combine together at a 1:1 ratio and mix with the supplied power mixer on medium speed for 3-4 minutes then immediately pour into roller pan and roller it on with the supplied epoxy roller that assures proper thickness! Do not mix more in one batch than you can apply in 45-50 minutes to avoid thickening/hardening of the epoxy. Don't worry about the epoxy hardening on the roller or mixer, when you mix the next batch up it will reactivate the epoxy. After coating entire floor let dry approximately 4-6 hrs till dry to the touch or overnight.
Then mix Part A and Part B of the Topcoat at a 2:1 ratio and roller it on. Again don't mix more then you can roller on in 45-50 minutes. For a nonskid surface mix in the nonskid additive into the topcoat. This will add a very slight grainy feel to the touch but will not affect the finish or cleaning of the floor. In fact our nonskid additive is such high quality that it will actually add even more durability to the topcoat! That's it, the Armor II System will self level and cure to a beautiful rock hard high gloss finish! Once Topcoat is dry to the touch floor is open to foot traffic and other light duty functions. Normal floor operations with forklifts or heavy vehicles with hot tires should be avoided for 48 hrs.
