Coverage is approximately 300 sq ft/gal on standard surfaces. Armorpoxy is easy to order. Divide the area of your floor by 300, that is the number of 2 gallons sets of Armorpoxy you need, enter that number into the Qty box, please round up to the nearest full can to ensure you have enough paint to do the job. Select a color(topcoat is clear only) and click add to cart. Each kit contains 1 gallon of epoxy and one gallon of topcoat plus our Clear Grip non skid additive. Armorpoxy normaly ships the next day!
Application is as follows(do not apply below 50 degrees!): For bare concrete and painted concrete in good condition simply clean the floor with mild detergent/soap(use power washer if available), then you must etch the floor to provide the proper surface for the epoxy to adhere to. Etching is easy and we suggest purchase of our Acid Safe Etching Kit that contains everything you neeed to prep your floor(see etching kit for details). After etching is complete rinse thoroughly, let dry minimum 8 hrs(overnight is best), floor must be completely dry before application, once floor is completely dry mix epoxy in can well and apply Armorpoxy paint with a good quality 3/8" nap roller(do not use cheap roller). Let Armorpoxy cure till it's hard to the touch usually 4-6 dyas. Once cured apply topcoat. Topcoat drys to touch in 2-4 hrs. You should have enough material to apply a second topcoat. If you plan on doing two topcoats and want to use the non skid additive, mix the non skid into the second final coat otherwise mix it into the first topcoat. Let final topcoat dry 48 hrs before driving on.
For concrete with an existing coating of paint that is old and peeling, strip off with paint stripper or sand/grind off with floor buffer(available at any tool rental store) for faster results. Etching is not necessary if you use a floor grinder.
For concrete that has been sealed, ideally sealers should be stripped off, you can try to etch until water does not bead up on the floor, this may take several times before the sealer has been penetrated by the etching solution. Here a floor grinder might be the easy and fastest method. Once stripped or properly etched, rinse thoroughly, let dry then paint. Please note that any grease and oil stains must be removed prior to painting. See our Oil & Grease Remover.
