This has become our biggest selling product and the go to roof coating for our customers when they have to have the highest leak stopping protection for their buildings and occupants that is an easy to apply affordable alternate to roof replacement. It is simply physically impossible for water to penetrate any portion of your roof covered with Roof Shield. If it does it means you didn't cover the entire roof or the water is coming in through a piece of mechanical equipment such as rooftop HVAC units or exhaust fans and vents.
Armor Roof Shield has superior adhesion, elongation, memory retention and abrasion ratings. It also has the lowest moisture transmission rating, this means its best at keeping water out of your building, the only thing more water tight would be a pool liner! This is an often overlooked factor/mistake made by customers who unknowingly purchase roof coatings, the second biggest mistake made is trying to do a professional commercial roof job with retail grade products such as water based, silicone based or aluminum type coatings to save a few dollars. Those coatings may work for a year or so but always fail after that, so do you really save any money if you have to reapply a coating over and over? Vapor Transmission rating or Permeability of a roof coating is what determines how much moisture can pass through the coating over a period of time. As your roof or roof coating ages it becomes more permeable which simply means that the molecular bonds start to weaken and the pores of the coating get larger due to stretching and UV aging, eventually water starts to actually pass through your roofing material or roof coating. That is why sometimes you can't seem to stop the leaks no matter how many flashings, small cracks or pits you patch, it's because the water may be slowly passing through the pores of your roofing over a large area and then running to the first opening in which case finding and patching the leaks becomes a costly and futile effort. The majority of roofs start leaking due to this issue, in other words they just simply stretch and wear out. So you want to start out with a coating that has the lowest permeability rating(vapor transmission)and highest memory retention rating as you can so that as the coating ages and the pores start to open up from UV degradation and stretching it will still repel water. If you start out with a high permeability rating and low memory it only takes a small amount of aging and stretching till that coating will no longer repel water. Armor Roof has by far the lowest Vapor Transmission rating and under the ASTM G53-9000 HR QUV Accelerated Weather Test which subjects the coating to extreme UV exposure and extreme temperature swings, Armor Roof Shield showed no degradation or loss in permeability ! Elastomeric Rubber Epoxy Coating For Worn Out Flat or Pitched Roofs
Recommended for all types of roofing materials such as Metal Roofs, Wood Roofs(no primer needed), EPDM, TPO, OSB, Modified Roofs, Gravel or Smooth Built Up Roofs and Hypalon. Will not cause debonding of rubber roof materials from decking as other products do. Compatible with all Tar/Asphalt-based roofing, may experience some color 'bleed through' with white coating, this is strictly cosmetic and not a performance issue.
