Armor Tiles are flexible and will conform to the contour of your uneven floor. This is an important factor since we all know that no floor is perfectly level. This is where all Hollow Peg & Loop type tiles come up short, they are all made from very brittle polypropylene plastic(recycled soda bottles) that causes them to fail at high or low stress points.
Armor Tiles are stain proof, non-skid and impervious to any type of repetitive traffic, road salt, oils, brake fluid, antifreeze, pet waste, common chemicals and acids. They clean up in minutes with mild soap and water. A note on tire marks; we get asked a lot if tires will leave marks on our tile. Staining is caused by a component used by manufacturers of car tires called ‘6PPD’ [phenaline diamine]. 6PPD is an anti-oxidant and is added to rubber products to resist environmental attack by ozone and ultraviolet light. It also has other beneficial effects in the molding of rubber itself. Since it adds to the cost of making tires, manufacturers usually only add it to the softer high performance tires. So the answer is no with standard passenger or truck tires. There are some off road tires and high performance tires with soft compounds that leach rubber onto the tiles. If you have these types of tire compounds we recommend you use our protective Tile Coating or a non slip wax such as Trewax. It's also not a bad idea to use even if you don't have exotic tire compounds, it gives a nice sheen to the tiles. You can even use standard residential Vinyl Floor cleaners such as Mop & Glow or Clean & Shine to clean and leave a protective wax coating on the tiles. We recommend our Tile Coating for high traffic floors such as dealerships or where there is lots of powder such as in brake shops or commercial bakeries.

WHEN WE SAY HEAVY DUTY WE MEAN IT! YOU COULD NEVER PUT THIS EQUIPMENT ON ANY PEG & LOOP TILE AND HAVE IT SURVIVE!
Armor Tile's continuous interlocking tabs on all 4 sides form an extremely strong monolithic floor surface that competing tiles with as little as 4 or 5 Peg & Loop connectors per side can never achieve. Our interlocking tabs are so closely machined that the seams virtually disappear when knocked together with a rubber mallet and makes it easy to form checkerboard patterns, stripes or other custom designs.
